Action Research – Reach 470

The habits of an action researcher: identify and understand challenges, design interventions, and evaluate implementation and results, are the very habits Reach believes are essential to effective school leadership.

The action research phase of the instructional leadership academy put’s all of these components together and is the culmination of the M.Ed. program. Participating leaders collaborate as part of a monthly research group to design, implement, and publish/present an action research study that addresses a challenge or need in their school.

Topics include:

  1. Overview of Action Research

  2. Identifying a Problem/Challenge/Need

  3. Consulting the Knowledge Base/Review of Literature

  4. Design & Data Collection

  5. Findings & Next Steps
