Instructional Coaching – Reach 420

This series designed for instructional leaders who want to bolster their knowledge and skills for coaching novice teachers, providing subject area coaching, supervising teachers, or improving instruction in their schools.

The series incorporates the New Teacher Center’s highly regarded “foundations in mentoring” series, and enhances that training with reflections on practice, reading and online discussions of research and other literature related to effective coaching, and a one-on-one consultancy to help participants apply their learning to their own context.

Topics include: Establishing a coaching relationship, coaching conversations, collaborative planning, conducting classroom observations, and analyzing student work.

The Instructional Coaching series is part of the Reach Coaching Certificate sequence as well as the Reach Instructional Leadership Administrative Services Credential and pilot Masters of Education program.
